The MOBI® non-contact infrared body scan thermometer is a hand-held medical device intended for the quick measurement of body
temperature (forehead) without touching the patient. It can be used repeatedly and has an estimated life span of three (3) years. It is
intended for use in the home or primary care setting as a screening tool.
The MOBI® should be used in environmental temperatures between 59℉ - 95℉.
To use the MOBI® body temperature scanner:
1. Depress the ON/Scan button/trigger to power on the thermometer. The screen will read “Lo”. You will hear 3 beeps. This
indicates that the thermometer is ready to use. Do not press any other buttons.
2. Ensure that the bell icon, the ℉ symbol, and “BODY” is present on the thermometer’s screen.
3. Hold the scanner approximately 0.5 - 2.0 inches away from the forehead of the patient.
4. Depress the SCAN trigger. You will hear 1 beep when the measurement is complete.
5. Measuring time is <2 seconds.
a. The screen will be green if the temperature is normal (95.9℉ - 99.1℉).
b. The screen will be yellow if the temperature indicates a slight fever (99.3℉ - 100.4℉).
c. The screen will be RED if the temperature indicates a high fever (100.5℉ - 109.2℉).
d. If the patient’s temperature is outside of normal parameters and the patient is not exhibiting illness symptoms, allow
the patient’s temperature to equalize with the environment for approximately 5 minutes before taking the body
temperature when transitioning from environmental extremes (hot-to-cool or cold-to-warm).
6. To ensure accuracy of measurement, wait at least 30 seconds after 5 consecutive measurements.
