Aerodynamic efficiency
is
optimum in the normal indicated
cruise ranges. The airspeed indicator
is
marked with
a
green arc from
69
to
175
MPkJ
and
a
yellow arc fron~
175
to
200
MPH.
When flying
at
lower altitudes, it
is
possible
to cruise at airspeeds above
175
MPH in the yellow arc.
The yellow arc indicates the range of airspeeds in which
you must exercise caution when flying in rough
air
or gusts.
~oug'h air
is
defined as flight in turbulence of
a
degree that
is
uncomfo~~table to the pilot and passengers. Reduce speed
when encountering rough air

gusts, and operate only in
the airspeed indicator green arc range,

gory airplane in compliance with the operating
limi-
tations stated in the form of placards, markings, and
manuals.
No
~crobatic_maneuvers including spins are
approved. However,
if
a spin
is
inadvertently ap-
proached or entered, depressing the cutoff valve but-
ton on the left
handgrip of the pilot's control wheel will
de-energize the P.C. system for spin recovery.
A recommended technique for spin recovery
is:
briskly
apply full rudder against the spin, followed immediately
by
rapid forward movement of the control wheel
as
required., The ailerons should be neutralized and tie
throttle closed
if
not already. When rotation stops,
neutralize the controls and recover from the result-
ing dive. Spin recovery can be executed from the co-
pilot's side by overpowering the P.C. system.
Do not attempt maneuvers involving approach to stal-
ling angle or those requiring full application of rud-
der, elevators, or ailerons above

Thoroughly familiarize yourself with the flight char-
acteristics of the aircraft with Positive
Control in-
operative. This can be done by simply holding down
the cutoff button while making turns and maneuvers.
Check the P.C. system frequently during each flight
to insure that
it
is functioning properly, particularly
when
IFR
or marginal weather may be encountered.
