HAZLOC Battery Type Detection
This feature alerts the user when there is a HAZLOC certification mismatch between the radio and the
battery. This feature supports IMPRES batteries only.
During power-up, if there is a mismatch, the following scenarios occurs:
The radio continuously displays Wrong Battery with red intelligent backlight
The radio Voice Announcement announces the preprogrammed Wrong Battery
The battery icon blinks continuously
A repetitive tone sounds
LED blinks RED continuously
NOTICE:
The radio does not display any indication when the radio is connected to the charger, when the
radio and battery match, or when the radio certification type is configured as None in Customer
Programming Software (CPS).
This feature is enabled through CPS configuration. Check with your dealer or system administrator for
more information.
4.2
LED Indications
The Status LED shows the operational status of your radio. A qualified technician can permanently
disable the LED indication by preprogramming it.
Table 1: LED Indications
Indication Status
Solid red Radio is transmitting.
Blinking red Radio is transmitting at low battery condition.
Double blinking red Radio is transmitting an emergency alarm or call.
Rapid blinking red Radio has failed the self-test upon powering up or encountered a fatal er-
ror.
Solid yellow Channel is busy in conventional mode.
Blinking yellow Radio is receiving a secured transmission.
Solid green Radio is powering up or is on a non-priority channel while in the Scan List
Programming mode.
Blinking green Radio is receiving an individual or telephone call or is on a Priority-Two
channel while in the Scan List Programming mode.
