Viewing a Status Message Number
Procedure:
1 From the home screen, press the Menu key.
2 Select Messages→Send Status.
3 Press the Menu key and select View.

Sending Status Messages
You can send status messages to either a selected talkgroup or a programmed private number. Only
one option can be enabled at a time.
Prerequisites:
• If sending statuses to talkgroups is enabled, switch to the talkgroup to which you want to send a
status message.
• If sending statuses to private numbers is enabled, no action is needed. The private number is set up
by your service provider.
Procedure:
1 From the home screen, press the Menu key.
2 Select Messages→Send Status.
3 Perform one of the following actions:
If… Then…
If there are existing status messages in
the radio,
a Select the required status message.
b Perform one of the following actions:
• Press Select.
• Press the PTT button.
• Press the Send key.
If the status list is empty,
a Enter a 5-digit status message number.
b Press Send.

Targeted Status Messages
The Targeted Status Messages feature enables sending status messages to addresses that can be
selected by the user.
By default, targeted status messages can be sent to private or talkgroup addresses.
Your service provider can restrict valid addresses to numbers stored in Contacts.
NOTICE: This feature is not supported on Dimetra networks.
