The radio cancels the indications, a tone sounds and the radio sends an acknowledgment to the
command terminal.
NOTICE: Move the Volume Control Knob to adjust the volume of the audible alert from
full volume.

Automatic Registration Service
Automatic Registration Service (ARS) provides an automated data application registration for the radio.
When you turn on the radio, the device automatically registers with the server. Data applications within
the fixed network determine the presence of a device on the system and send data to the device.
The ARS for the radio consists of two modes:
ARS Server Mode (default mode)
ARS Non-server Mode

Selecting or Changing the ARS Mode
When and where to use:
The following methods are options on how to select or change the ARS Mode. The result of all the
methods is the same. You can use the options interchangeably depending on your preference and the
programmed functions.
Procedure:
Selecting or Changing the ARS mode using the 16-Position Select knob:
a. Once the zone you want is displayed, turn the preprogrammed 16-Position Select knob to
the desired mode.
Selecting or Changing the ARS mode using the radio menu:
a. or to Chan .
b. Press the Menu Select button directly below Chan .
The display shows the current channel name.
c. or to the required channel or mode.
d. Press Sel to confirm the displayed channel.
One of the following scenarios occur:
In ARS Server Mode, the display shows the zone and ARS server channel.
In ARS Non-Server Mode, the display shows the zone and ARS non-server channel.
If the channel or mode selected is unprogrammed, the display shows Unprogrammed.
6.9.2
User Login Feature
This feature allows you to take on a friendly username for (Example: Text Messaging Service).
You can still send text messages without logging in as a user. The user login feature only enables the
recipient of your message to identify you as the sender by assigning a username to your message.
NOTICE: A predefined username that is set more than the maximum allowed characters is an
invalid name.
