2 General Information
WARNING!
This user instruction manual is approved for use only with the following V-TEC SRLs:
V-TECSRL 6m (20ft)
V-TECSRL 7m (23ft)
V-TECSRL 10m (30ft)
V-TECSRL 15m (50ft)
Failure to follow this warning can result in serious personal injury or death.
WARNING!
Users of V-TEC SRLs shall be medically fit and suitably trained. V-TEC SRLs shall not be used by
pregnant women, minors or those under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The V-TEC SRL is only to be used for its intended purpose and within its limitations. Further
clarification may be obtained from MSA.
For use in accordance with acceptable locations (Table 2 Acceptable Anchor Locations) Do not
use over an edge or in a situation where a fall could result in contact with an edge.
For single User only within the weight range 60 - 140 kg (130 - 310 lbs) (including tools). Suitable for
use up to 181 kg (400 lbs) (including tools) under OSHA only.
If a lifeline is released while extracted from the housing, it will retract at high speed and may result in
injury or death. Do not allow uncontrolled retraction of the lifeline.
DO NOT exceed the maximum fall arrest forces as specified by governing standards or subsystem
components.
The anchorage must be capable of supporting the required load. See Table 1 System Requirement
of the User Instructions for details on anchorage strength.
