3d. Remove the dowel pin that drives the spur gear.
See Figure 5.3.
NOTE: There is a lip on one end of the dowel pin.
The pin must be removed from that end.
4. Remove the dust shield.
5. Remove the transmission stop using a 5/16”
wrench. See Figure 5.4.
6. There are two retaining clips that hold the transmis-
sion to the front sub-frame. Squeeze these clips
below the transmission output shaft while lifting the
transmission out of the machine. See Figure 5.5.
NOTE: The front axle assembly will come off with
the transmission.
