5.1 Troubleshooting
Engine does not turn when starter is actuated
Component Cause Action
Battery Low or faulty Charge or replace (see manufacturer's
documentation).
Cable connections faulty Check if cable connections are properly
secured (see manufacturer's documen-
tation).
Starter Engine cabling or starter faulty Check cable connections for secure
seating ; contact Service.
Engine wiring Faulty Check (→ Page 138).
Engine governor Plug-in connections possibly loose Check plug-in connections (→ Page 137).
Engine Running gear blocked (engine cannot be
barred manually)
Contact Service.
Engine turns but does not fire
Component Cause Action
Starter Poor rotation by starter: Battery low or
faulty
Charge or replace battery (see manufac-
turer's documentation).
Engine wiring Faulty Check (→ Page 137).
Fuel system Air in fuel system, if fault occurs after
filling the system.
Vent fuel system (→ Page 89).
Engine governor Faulty Contact Service.
Engine fires unevenly
