8.2 Recommended checks
The recommended checks must only be carried out by a qualified
service technician.
Before and during each application, observe the safety instructions
included in Chapter 3.
Inspections related to safety and measuring technology are not required. However, it is
advisable to carry out the following tests every 12 months.
Visual inspection
Presence of all system components
Signs of damage on the Narcotrend-Compact M (cracks, missing housing parts)
Condition of the plug-in connections on the Narcotrend-Compact M (firmly
seated in the housing, pins not bent)
Condition of the patient lead (sheath, plug-in connections undamaged)
Proper labeling (type plates fitted, legible)
Electrical measurements
Patient leakage current (application part: electrode pushbutton adapter)
Functional test (if test adapter is available)
Starting an EEG recording incl. impedance measurement after
plugging a test adapter into the pushbutton adapter.
A simulated zero line must be output. The impedance
values must amount to approx. 1 k.
Documentation
Preparing a test report including identification of the inspector, the measuring
method and the test results.
