Soft error
A soft error is a problem that prevents the module from functioning, e.g. a high tem-
perature. The error needs to be cleared before the module can continue. The module
might do this in full autonomy, for example when the temperature has dropped to an
acceptable level. Switching the module on/off does start the module but the error will
be raised again if the condition has not disappeared.
Hard error
A hard error is a more serious problem that prevents the module from functioning.
The error needs to be cleared before the module can continue. This can only be done
by a user action. If the error has been cleared and the condition has not disappeared,
the error will be raised again. Switching the unit on/off does not start the module nor
clear the error.
Error Clearance
An error may prevent an energy module from operating. Before the module can op-
erate again, the error has to be cleared. Soft errors are cleared automatically by the
modules if the error condition disappears. For hard and fatal errors, the
modules need permission from a user; the Platform module does not contain
intelligence for clearing errors. Hard errors can be cleared by means of the
following:
• Installation software tool
• Buttons
• Internet
Installation software tool
Currently, the installation software tool does not supports error reset commands.
Buttons
An error shown on the error screen can be acknowledged with a key press. However,
this does not clear any errors. To clear all hard errors, the No-key has to be
pressed for at least 3 seconds.
Internet
Clearing hard errors through the Internet is currently not supported. This will be add-
ed in the future.
