Why is the monitor blank on my Nikon COOLPIX 8700?

If the monitor on your Nikon Digital Camera is blank, there could be several reasons: * **Low or Exhausted Batteries**: Replace the batteries with new ones. * **Cold Batteries**: Warm up the batteries. * **Camera Off**: Turn the camera on. * **Incorrectly Inserted Batteries**: Ensure the batteries are correctly inserted and the battery-chamber cover is properly latched. * **AC Adapter Issues**: Make sure the AC adapter is properly connected. * **Energy-Saving Mode**: Press the shutter-release button halfway. * **Time-Lapse Movie or Interval-Timer Shooting**: Wait until the time-lapse movie or interval-timer shooting is complete.
