Why is the PictBridge startup screen is not displayed when the Nikon COOLPIX S6400 Digital Camera is connected to a printer?
    • E
      eduardogarzaSep 23, 2025
With some PictBridge-compatible printers, the PictBridge startup screen may not be displayed and it may be impossible to print images when Auto is selected for the Charge by computer option in the setup menu. Set the Charge by computer option to Off and reconnect the camera to the printer.

How to fix blurred images on my Nikon COOLPIX S6400?
    • M
      Marc WashingtonAug 23, 2025
If your Nikon Digital Camera images are blurred, consider the following solutions: * Use flash. * Increase the ISO sensitivity value. * Enable vibration reduction or motion detection. * Use D (Best Shot Selector). * Use a tripod to stabilize the camera when shooting; using the self-timer at the same time is more effective.

What to do if the flash does not fire on my Nikon COOLPIX S6400 Digital Camera?
    • M
      Manuel GallagherAug 26, 2025
If the flash on your Nikon Digital Camera isn't firing, check these settings: The flash mode might be set to W (off). A scene mode with which the flash does not fire might be selected. On might be selected for Blink proof in the smart portrait menu. Also, another function that restricts flash might be enabled.

Why is the date and time of recording not correct on my Nikon Digital Camera?
    • C
      colemanlydiaAug 27, 2025
If the date and time of recording are incorrect on your Nikon Digital Camera, it might be because the camera clock hasn't been set. If so, the 'Date not set' indicator flashes during shooting and movie recording, and images/movies recorded before setting the clock are dated '01/01/2012 00:00'. Set the correct time and date from the Time zone and date option in the setup menu. Note that the camera clock is not as accurate as ordinary watches or clocks, so periodically compare it with a more accurate timepiece and reset as needed.

Why does my Nikon COOLPIX S6400 Digital Camera battery inserted in the camera cannot be charged?
    • E
      Erik HerringAug 27, 2025
If the battery inserted in your Nikon Digital Camera isn't charging, confirm all connections. Check if 'Off' is selected for Charge by computer in the setup menu. When charging by connecting the camera to a computer, battery charging stops when the camera is turned off or if the computer is suspended (sleeping), and the camera may turn off. Depending upon computer specifications, settings, and status, charging the battery inserted in the camera may not be possible via computer connection.

Why does my Nikon COOLPIX S6400 take time for saving images?
    • J
      jacqueline56Sep 17, 2025
Saving images on your Nikon Digital Camera may take longer in certain situations: when the noise reduction function is in operation (such as when shooting in a dark environment), when the flash mode is set to V (auto with red-eye reduction), when shooting in Night landscape, Night portrait, or Backlighting (when HDR is set to On) scene mode, when the skin softening function is applied while shooting, or when using continuous shooting mode.

Why does my Nikon COOLPIX S6400 Digital Camera show randomly spaced bright pixels (“noise”) appear in image?
    • H
      hlunaSep 14, 2025
If randomly spaced bright pixels (“noise”) appear in your Nikon Digital Camera images, it could be because the subject is dark, resulting in a slow shutter speed or high ISO sensitivity. You can reduce noise by using flash or specifying a lower ISO sensitivity setting.

Why does my Nikon COOLPIX S6400 show unexpected results when flash set to V (auto with red-eye reduction)?
    • P
      Patricia SanchezSep 16, 2025
When taking pictures with V (auto with red-eye reduction) or fill flash with slow sync and red-eye reduction in Night portrait scene mode, In-Camera Red Eye Fix may be applied to areas not affected by red-eye in rare cases. Use any scene mode other than Night portrait, and change the flash mode to any setting other than V (auto with red-eye reduction) and try taking a picture again.

Why does the monitor turn off and the power-on lamp flashes quickly on my Nikon COOLPIX S6400?
    • M
      millerjenniferSep 6, 2025
If the monitor turns off and the power-on lamp flashes quickly on your Nikon Digital Camera, the battery temperature is likely high. Turn off the camera and allow the battery to cool down before resuming use. After the lamp flashes for three minutes, the camera will turn off automatically. Pressing the power switch also turns off the camera.

Why is my Nikon COOLPIX S6400 monitor hard to read?
    • R
      Roy JeffersonSep 3, 2025
If the monitor on your Nikon Digital Camera is hard to read, try adjusting the monitor brightness. Also, check if the monitor is dirty and clean it if necessary.
