This is mainly used

determine the exact subject-to-film plane distance.
It
is
visible when the film winding

out, and positioned precisely

Both Nikon Series E and Nikkor lenses have

infra-
red
photography focusing index W for shooting with
black-and-white infrared film. The image is first

cused through the viewfinder; then the lens focusing
