(A) Split·image focusing
For precise, pinpoint focusing of subjects with distinct contours,
turn the focusing ring until the
sp~it·image
becomes whole.
(B) Microprism focusing
For rapid focusing and for subjects with indistinct outlines, turn
the focusing ring until the shimmering image becomes sharp.
(C) Matte field focusing
For close·up photography at high magnification, or when using a
telephoto lens with a maximum aperture of approx.
f/11
or
smaller, the split·image may darken.
Turn
the focusing ring until
the image
on
the matte field appears sharp.
