Freezer Compartment
The freezer compartment is not intended for
q
uick freezin
g
of foods. It keeps food frozen. The freezer shelf ad
j
usts
or removes to meet

our stora

e needs.
Fresh Food Compartment
The fresh food compartment stores and cools food. For best coolin
g
performance, air must circulate within the
fresh food compartment.
Do not cover the shelves with paper, plastic, etc.
To reduce frost on the coolin
g
fins, cover li
q
uids and moist foods. Do not place hot foods in the compartment,
and do not leave the door open lon
g
er than needed.
Allow the refri
g
erator to cool for 8 hours before loadin
g
foods. Loadin
g
a warm refri
g
erator with warm food
increases the cool down period.
Defrost and Clean the Interior
Your refri
g
erator is not frost free. It re
q
uires periodic defrostin
g
. To defrost, turn the refri
g
erator off. Empt
y
the
freezer and fresh food compartments. Place a pan of hot tap water in the freezer to reduce the defrostin
g
time.
Leave the drip tra

under the coolin
g
fins. After frost melts, empt

the drip tra
y
and clean the refri
g
erator.
Add a small
q
uantit
y
of mild dish soap to lukewarm water and wash the interior.
Do not use abrasive cleansers;
they can damage the refrigerator’s interior surfaces
. Rinse both compartments with a solution of bakin
g
soda
and water
(
one tablespoon of bakin
g
soda to one
q
uart of water
)
to freshen the interiors and neutralize odors.
Wipe with a soft dr
y
cloth to prevent water spots. Clean the door
g
askets in the same wa

as the refri

erator
interior.
