Disassembly and Repair

Section 7 contains instructions for repairing or replacing various parts
of the Series 2300 Applicator system. The instructions describe how to
disassemble, repair or replace, and reassemble system components.

WARNING: For the most reliable operation of your SP

pump, install an air filter (5-micron particulate filter or finer)
as close as possible to the applicator air pressure regulator.
Refer to the illustrated parts lists later in this publication for a
list of filters that meet his requirement.

Removing the Pump
NOTE: Several different types of SP-style pumps are used on various
Nordson units. Therefore, the illustrations on the following pages may
not match your unit exactly.
Flush the system before disassembly. If the pump does not work, but
the heating system does, then heat the applicator to operating
temperature to facilitate disassembly. If the heating system does not
work, then use a heat gun or other flameless heating device to melt the
solidified hot melt material in or on the system parts.
1. Turn the circuit breaker off.
2. Remove the pump enclosure.
