Rod
can
be lined up
by
transferring the
pen stccl
washers
on
the driving and timing
shafts to
whichever
side
needs
them,
to obtain
the correct alignment.
When
the correct alignment
is
obtained,
remove
whccls
from
case.
Lubricate
main
bearings and big-end.
Smear the
two
edges
of the
case
with
gold-
size
or jointing
compound.
Fit
whccls
into the
case
and
tighten
all
bolts and nuts.
Fit timing gears (Para. 24), and panel
(Para. 21).

ENGINE
TO
FRAME.
Fitting of the engine to the
frame
should
present
no
difficulty.

Lift engine into cradle and insert the
two
cradle bolts.
Starting at rear engine plates
fit
all bolts
loosely,
working
finally
to the front
engine
plate bolt.
Tighten all nuts.
Fit clutch,
oil
bath, etc.
Fit and time
magdyno.

FITTING

TIMING
GEAR
BUSHES.
When engine is dismantled it may be found
that the timing gear bushes require replace-
ment. This is not a job to
be
undertaken by
the
average
owner. The timing cover and
half
crankcase should be despatched to our
service
department.
