7. Installation of the L-insert (This step may not be required if the lathe is directly compatible with the chuck)
- Screw the L-insert into place without tightening it.
- Insert the red plastic sleeve and insert the grub screw to secure the L-insert without tightening it up.
8. Installation of the chuck
- Ensure all the power connected to the lathe is disconnected properly.
- Engage the lock on the lathe body, and
- Install the chuck onto the lathe and turn it by hand until it is secured properly.
9. Securing the chuck
- Tighten the first grub screw installed on step 7 – installation of the L-insert properly.
- Insert the second grub screw on the L-insert and tightened it properly,
