5. Installation of the backing plate
- Hold the pinion securely in place and align the two slots on the backing plate to accommodate pinion
gears properly.
- Insert the backing plate into place and press it with hand until it sit flush with the back of the chuck.
6. Installation of the circlip/snap ring
Note: Wear safety goggle and gloves before continuing on the next following procedure.
- By using fingers, push the circlip/snap ring gently against the face of the backing plate, it also prevents
the circlip/snap ring from bouncing off.
- By using circlip/snap ring plier, expand the circlip/snap ring until it could slip into place.
