Low Speed Handpieces

Low speed handpieces incorporate gearing systems which require extra solution penetration.

The NSK rotation system guarantees optimum oil delivery to the internal components of all low

speed handpieces, while particles in the coolant water and air channels are removed by the

cleaning solution.

High Speed Handpieces

The critical turbine component, plus all air and water channels of high speed handpieces are

thoroughly cleaned and lubricated.

NSK Care3 Plus Automatic Handpiece Cleaning & Lubrication System

The NSK Care3 Plus is an automatic handpiece cleaning and lubrication system designed to ensure optimal performance and extended lifespan for dental handpieces. It offers a fast, user-friendly, fully automatic, and economical solution for maintaining both high-speed and low-speed handpieces. The system performs thorough cleaning and lubrication in a single 2-minute operation cycle, processing up to three handpieces simultaneously.

Function Description

The primary function of the Care3 Plus is to automate the crucial maintenance process for dental handpieces. This includes:

Cleaning: The system thoroughly cleans the internal components of handpieces, removing particles from coolant water and air channels, which is particularly important for low-speed handpieces with their intricate gearing systems. For high-speed handpieces, it cleans the critical turbine component and all air and water channels.
Lubrication: It ensures optimum oil delivery to the internal components of all handpieces, providing essential lubrication for smooth operation and reduced wear.
Flushing: The "Air" key activates air supply, enabling the operator to flush out any residual solution from the handpieces.

The Care3 Plus is available in two main configurations:

C1 Type: Features a single rotation port and two standard ports.
C2 Type: Features two rotation ports and a single standard port.

Each complete pack includes the Care3 Plus unit, a power cord with an L-shaped plug, 1 liter of maintenance oil, an oil replenish funnel with filter, a mist filter set, and an air tube with an air filter.

Usage Features

The Care3 Plus is designed for ease of use with a straightforward control panel:

Simple Operation:
1. Open the door and attach up to three handpieces to the Care3 Plus couplings.
2. Close the door. The unit will not operate if the door is not properly closed.
3. Select the desired cycle mode (S, L, or E) relevant to each handpiece connection location.
4. Press the start key to initiate the cleaning and lubrication cycle.
Cycle Selection Modes:
- S Mode (Short Cycle): Approximately 35 seconds, ideal for high-speed handpieces.
- L Mode (Long Cycle): Approximately 45 seconds, suitable for low-speed handpieces.
- E Mode (Extra Long Cycle): Approximately 50 seconds, for speed reduction and speed increasing handpieces.
Accommodates Various Handpieces: NSK and other brands of low-speed handpieces connect directly to the supplied coupling. NSK high-speed handpieces require the PTL adaptor. Various adaptors are available for direct connection of most other brands of high-speed handpieces, including:
- E-Type Adaptor (for all brands low-speed handpieces)
- PTL Adaptor (for NSK high-speed handpieces for PTL-CL-4HV-T Coupling)
- QD Adaptor (for MACH-QD & CH-QD high-speed handpieces)

End-of-Cycle Indicator: An audible indicator alerts the operator when the cycle is completed.

Maintenance Features

The Care3 Plus incorporates several features to facilitate its own maintenance and ensure consistent performance:

Easy to Clean: The front cover can be completely removed by pulling a detachment pin, allowing for easy cleaning of the unit.
Original Air Filter: The unit includes a highly efficient air filter that can be easily exchanged and installed, ensuring a clean air supply for effective handpiece maintenance. Spare air filter elements are available.
Virtually No Mist: Spray mist generated during operation is absorbed within the unit by a disposable mist filtration system. Filter sponges are easily exchanged (available in packs of 12).
Oil Level Indicator: An indicator on the front panel clearly shows the amount of oil remaining in the tank, signaling when a refill is needed.
Solution Tank Refill: The solution tank has a large capacity (350 mL), requiring refills only after approximately 3,500 handpieces (S mode) have been processed. Refilling is simple by unscrewing the cap on top of the unit and pouring in new solution.
Spare Parts Availability: A comprehensive range of spare parts is available, including maintenance oil (1-liter bottles and packs of 6), mist filter sets (packs of 12), fuses (for 120V and 230V), oil replenish funnel with filter, oil absorber sheets (packs of 20), air filters, air filter elements, and air tubes.
