What to do if my NTI Matrix M100 Boiler experiences a Flame Lock Out?
    • S
      Stephanie KelleyAug 18, 2025
If your NTI Boiler enters a Flame Lock Out state, it indicates a problem within the ignition sequence. This could stem from a faulty igniter, a malfunctioning flame sensor, issues with the gas valve, or incorrect line pressure or combustion. To diagnose the issue, carefully observe the ignition sequence to pinpoint the component that is not working correctly. Note that the control system will automatically retry the ignition sequence one hour after the ER6 code initially appears, or if the control is manually reset.

How to solve excessive water temperature in my NTI Matrix M100?
    • J
      jacobsonaaronAug 21, 2025
If the water temperature in your NTI Boiler is excessively high, take the following steps: First, if the boiler is extremely hot, verify that there is adequate water pressure and circulation. If the boiler is not extremely hot, check the Water Sensor electrical connections for grounding or shorting, and inspect the wiring from the sensor to the Boiler Control (Red). Lastly, if the resistance of the Water Sensor is not within the correct range, replace it.

Why does my NTI Matrix M100 Boiler show a 24V Limit Error?
    • R
      roblesstephanieAug 23, 2025
A 24V Limit Error on your NTI Boiler could be due to several reasons. First, try resetting the power. If the error disappears, the problem was likely an intermittent tripped limit that has automatically reset. Ensure adequate water pressure and flow rate. Allow the boiler to cycle and verify proper operation, including outlet water temperature and flue temperature. If the error persists, check the water pressure switch, ensuring it reads a minimum of 12PSI and replace if necessary. Also, check for continuity through the 24VAC limit wiring, manifold, and stack limits, replacing any faulty limits or wiring.

How to troubleshoot an open air switch on my NTI Matrix M100?
    • G
      gary13Aug 26, 2025
To troubleshoot an open air switch on your NTI Boiler: First, make sure the vinyl tubes connecting the air switch to the inlet pipe ports are correctly placed, with the negative side connected to the 1-1/2” PVC elbow port. Next, check for any blockages in the intake and exhaust vents. If the fan is running, the air switch might be defective; ensure it is set at 0.2”wc. If the fan isn't running, inspect the 120V wiring to the blower. If the wiring is okay, disconnect the low voltage harness from the blower. If the blower starts, the issue might be with the blower or the Controller.

What to do if the display on my NTI Matrix M100 Boiler goes blank?
    • J
      Justin SalinasAug 28, 2025
If the display on your NTI Boiler goes blank, first check for 120V between terminals L1 and L2. If 120V is present, turn off the power and disconnect the line voltage harness from the Control. Check the resistance between L1 and L2 of the control; an open circuit (O.L) indicates a blown internal fuse. Before replacing the controller, check for shorts in the wires leading to the circulator. If 120V is not present, check the wiring and for 120V at the source.

What causes an air switch closed error on my NTI Boiler?
    • M
      Matthew WilsonAug 30, 2025
An 'Air Switch Closed' error on your NTI Boiler can arise from several issues. First, determine if the combustion fan is running continuously at full speed while the error is displayed. If so, check for 24V from the transformer and inspect the transformer fuse. If 24V is present, examine the low voltage wiring from the Controller to the combustion blower, and consider replacing the Controller or Blower. If the combustion fan is off, inspect the air switch and air switch tubes for water, replacing the switch if necessary. Finally, verify the venting termination complies with the venting requirements.

What should I do if the plenum temperature limit is exceeded on my NTI Matrix M100?
    • K
      karagutierrezSep 2, 2025
If the plenum temperature limit of 160ºF is exceeded on your NTI Boiler, begin by checking the blower fan's operation if the plenum is hot. If the plenum is not hot, inspect the plenum sensor and its wiring for any shorts or damage. Remove the plenum sensor; if 'PSO' is displayed, replace the plenum sensor. If 'PSO' is not displayed, inspect the wiring from the Terminal Strip to the Fan Control and replace the Fan Control if necessary.

Why does my NTI Boiler show a DHW Time-Out error?
    • N
      nicolemcknightSep 4, 2025
If your NTI Boiler displays a DHW Time-Out error, try resetting the AL5 error by resetting the power or cycling the DHW call and check for proper operation of the DHW call. If the control is registering a flow rate when the water is turned off, disconnect the electrical lead to the flow meter. If the indicated flow rate drops to 0, replace the flow meter; otherwise, replace the fan controller. Also, ensure nothing is connected to the FS terminal of the terminal strip unless using a DHW tank aqua-stat to trigger a demand, and check the aqua-stat's operation.

How to fix a furnace blower error on my NTI Boiler?
    • B
      Brittany Gutierrez DDSSep 7, 2025
To address a furnace blower error on your NTI Boiler: First, check for 120V to the blower, ensuring the door switches are making the circuit. Then, inspect the wiring from Pin 6 at the Fan Control (white wire) to Pin 15 at the blower motor. Check for 24VDC at blower Pin 15; if present, replace the blower. If not, replace the Fan Control.

What causes a water sensor open circuit error on my NTI Matrix M100?
    • G
      Gordon HoltSep 10, 2025
A water sensor open circuit error on your NTI Boiler can be caused by several factors. Begin by checking the wiring to the Water Sensor for open circuits or shorting to ground. Note that ER3 will be displayed if the temperature sensed is less than 0°F. If the wiring is intact, replace the Water Sensor if its resistance is not within the correct range.
