Why is my NTI Trinity Lx150 Boiler making banging sounds or showing Lockout 81?
    • T
      Thomas MillerAug 12, 2025
If your NTI Boiler is making banging or hissing sounds, or displaying a Lockout 81 (Delta T limit), it might be due to insufficient water flow. Check Fuse "A" and the boiler pump. Ensure the plumbing is correct and that the water pressure is at least 15PSI. If you have a boiler, the heat transfer surfaces may be fouled with scale or magnetite. Clean with Fernox DS-40 Descaler and Cleanser.

How to troubleshoot a NTI Boiler blower that is not operating?
    • D
      Debra HernandezAug 17, 2025
If your NTI Boiler's blower isn't operating, the possible causes are a blown fuse, a faulty controller, or a faulty pump. Begin by checking Fuse "B". If the fuse is not blown and the controller is operating, go to the pump diagnostic on the display. Manually switch the pump on, and check for 120VAC at the pump connection terminal on the line voltage barrier strip. If 120VAC is not detected, then replace the controller. If 120VAC is supplied to the pump, but the pump still doesn't work, replace the pump.

What to do if my NTI Trinity Lx150 Boiler shows Lockout 65?
    • C
      Cheryl GreenAug 21, 2025
If your NTI Boiler displays Lockout 65 (Interrupted Air Switch OFF), it could be normal during the drive to light-off. However, it can also indicate a blown fuse. In that case, check Fuse "A", as a blown fuse prevents the blower from operating.

What causes Lockout 82 on my NTI Trinity Lx150 Boiler?
    • S
      Sarah RoweAug 26, 2025
If your NTI Boiler shows Lockout 82 (Stack limit), it could be due to a dirty heat exchanger or an incorrect “Stack limit setpoint”. Inspect and clean the combustion chamber and/or heat exchanger if needed. Unless the boiler is installed in Canada with PVC exhaust venting, set the “Stack limit setpoint” to the maximum setting of 220ºF (104ºC). In Canada, PVC exhaust venting is limited to 149ºF (65ºC).

What does Lockout 63 mean on my NTI Trinity Lx150?
    • K
      Kaitlyn RuizAug 29, 2025
If your NTI Boiler displays Lockout or Hold 63 (LCI OFF), it's possible that a replacement control is incorrectly configured. The LCI must be set to “enable” on all Lx models, excluding Lx150/150E units with a serial number of 49351 or lower and Lx200/400 units with a serial number of 48251 or lower.

If your NTI Boiler is showing Lockout or Hold 61 (Anti short-cycle), check the demand. This delay is designed to prevent the burner from cycling too rapidly.

What to do if my NTI Trinity Lx150 shows Lockout 109 or Hold 110?
    • J
      Jerome YoungNov 7, 2025
If your NTI Boiler experiences Lockout 109 (Lx500-800) or Hold 110 (Lx150-400), which indicates an ignition failure, start by checking the spark cable connection to the spark generator and igniter electrode, ensuring the green ground wire is securely attached. Also, make sure the manual gas shutoff valve is open and that the flame rod signal wire is securely connected to the flame rod at the bottom center of the burner door. Check the wiring from controller to spark generator and measure voltage across J5-6 and ground during trial for ignition. If the spark generator is receiving 120VAC and no spark is observed via the observation port, replace the spark generator. Verify the gas valve wiring harness for loose connections and measure the voltage from controller terminals J5-2 to J4-10; 24V...
