  If your Oleo-Mac Chainsaw engine will not start or runs only briefly after starting, ensure the ignition switch is in the start position “I”. The problem may be due to: 1. No spark. Check for a spark at the spark plug tip. If there's no spark, try again with a new spark plug (L6RTC). 2. Flooded engine. Follow the procedure on page 20. If it still fails, repeat with a new spark plug.

  If your Oleo-Mac chainsaw engine starts and runs, but the chain isn't rotating, consider these potential issues: * The chain brake might be engaged. Release the chain brake, referring to the OperationChain Brake Section (Pag.26). * The chain tension could be too tight. Adjust the chain tension as per the instructions in the Operation-Chain Tension section (Pag.12). * Refer to Assembly-Assembling the Bar and Chain Section (Pag.12). * Refer to Maintenance-Chain and/or Maintenance-Guide Bar Section (Pag.34). * If necessary, replace the component, contacting a Servicing Dealer.

Why is my Oleo-Mac GS 35C bar and chain running hot and smoking?

  Your Oleo-Mac Chainsaw bar and chain might be running hot and smoking due to several reasons: * The chain oil tank may be empty; it should be filled every time the fuel tank is filled. * The chain tension may be too tight; adjust the chain tension according to the instructions. * There may be an oiler malfunction. Run the chainsaw at full throttle for 15 to 30 seconds, then stop it and check for oil dripping from the bar tip guard and guide bar. If there's no oil, contact a servicing dealer.

Inspect the air filter. If it's dirty, clean it following the instructions in the Maintenance-Air Filter Section. 3. The carburetor may need adjustment, in which case you should contact a Servicing Dealer.
