Omnitronix DL50 User’s Manual
Page 26
brings up a selection menu with the following options: 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, and
38400.
Data Format displays the selection menu for word length, parity, and stop bit settings. The
available options are: 8N1, 7E1, 7N1, and 7O1.
Duplex controls the echo settings for the command processor via modem. Full duplex causes the
DL50 to echo all characters sent to the remote device. Half duplex turns off character echo.
Init String is the user defined modem initialization string. This string is sent to the modem before
important factory modem initialization settings, so certain settings in this init string may be
overridden.
TAP Init String is the modem initialization string used only when the modem is making an
alphanumeric modem callout.
Note: Make sure to enter ‘AT’ at the beginning of the modem initialization string with both the general
Init String and the TAP Init String.
Inactivity Timeout is the amount of time the DL50 will allow the modem to remain connected
without any activity. This setting is measured in minutes. If set to zero, this feature is disabled.
4.5 - Passwords/Security
This setup branch controls all of the primary access and security issues within the DL50. It
contains all of the settings for passwords, password policies, and callback security. Following is
an example of the main menu.
Data-Link DL50 - Password Menu
A) User 1 Password [SMDR]
B) User 2 Password [USER2]
C) Access 1 Password [ACCESS1]
D) Access 2 Password [ACCESS2]
E) Access Alarms Password [ACCESSA]
F) Show Password Prompt [OFF]
G) Local Command Requires Password [OFF]
H) Modem Callin Requires Password [OFF]
I) Telnet/TCP Requires Password [ON]
J) System Administrator Password [SUPER]
K) Dialback Security Setup
User n Password is the user-level password. User-level access does not allow access to the setup
menu or administrative commands. Their primary use is for polling the unit. If a password is not
defined for a particular user, that user is deactivated. These same two passwords will coincide
with the two dial back security numbers, which are explained later in this section.
Access n Password sets the password for RTS (real-time socket) or pass-through access to both of
the ports.
