The Omron E3X-MDA series introduces a new generation of 2-channel fiber sensors, designed for space-saving and high-performance detection in industrial applications. These amplifiers boast the thinnest profile in the industry, with each channel occupying only 5 mm, making them ideal for gang-mounting in tight spaces.
Function Description:
The E3X-MDA series are 2-channel fiber optic amplifiers that provide two types of control output: AND/OR. This allows for flexible detection logic with a single sensor, eliminating the need for separate compact PLCs or sensor controllers for basic logic operations. The amplifiers utilize a red LED (650 nm) as their light source and incorporate Omron's advanced APC (Auto Power Control) function for stable, long-term performance. This function, combined with new 4-element LEDs, compensates for LED deterioration over time, ensuring consistent detection accuracy. The circuit design also features excess light capacity, allowing for high stability regardless of whether the APC circuit is ON or OFF.
Optical communication capabilities prevent mutual interference when multiple amplifiers are mounted together, supporting up to 9 amplifiers (18 channels) in a single setup. The units offer a power tuning function, which is a first in digital amplifiers, allowing users to adjust the incident light level to a target value for optimal performance. They also include a zero-reset function for the digital display and an initial reset to return settings to defaults.
