Why is there no sound from a connected external device on my Onkyo TX-8260?

If you're not getting any sound from a connected external device, there are a few things to check. First, the connected component's digital audio output setting may be off, so verify that setting. Also, ensure that the input selector on your Onkyo Stereo Receiver is set to the correct terminal where the external device is connected. Finally, input through the DIGITAL IN OPTICAL/COAXIAL jacks only supports PCM audio, so set the audio output on the external device to output PCM.
