For ease of installation and proper operation read thru this manual (especially
WARNING
CAUTION
NOTE
) prior to installing and adjusting the sensor system.
Failure to read and follow the instructions in this manual may cause improper sensor operation resulting in serious injury or death.
This product is a non-contact activating switch intended for door mounted of an automatic door.
Do not use it for any other applications; otherwise proper operation and safety cannot be guaranteed.
1.Set door speeds and verify proper operation of door manufacturer’s equipment prior to applying power to the sensor system.
2.Do not install the sensor where it might be directly sprayed with rainwater.
3.Verify proper wiring prior to applying power to the sensor system to prevent damage to equipment.
4.When setting the sensors area pattern, make sure there is no traffic around the installation site.
5.Do not attempt to rebuild or repair sensor heads or control unit. Contact an address in this manual for replacement products.
6.Only use the sensor as specified in the supplied instructions.
7.Walk test the installation to verify operation is in compliance with all local laws, codes and standards of your country.
8.Upon completion of installation and adjustments, instruct the owner/operator on proper operation of the door and sensor system.
Identify any switches/breakers that will place the door out of service when unsafe or improper operation is identified.

    Why Optex OC-904C Accessories will not complete initial setup?

      If your Optex accessories are not completing the initial setup, it might be due to incorrect OC-904 dipswitch settings. Check the Connection Matrix for the proper settings. Also, inspect the yellow wires from the OC-904 to the door control for poor or improper connections, again referring to the Connection Matrix. Finally, ensure proper voltage on the red and black wires of the OC-904, with positive voltage on the red wire at hold open and 0 voltage at the closed position.

      If there's no safety on the swing side of your Optex accessories when fully closed, check for poor or improper connections of the blue wires from the OC-904 to the door control. Also, verify that the OC-904 dipswitches are set correctly. Finally, ensure that the area width dipswitches on the right bank of the OA-603 are properly set.

      If the Optex Accessories door remains open, verify the OC-904 dipswitch settings. For knowing act applications, check the purple wires from the OC-904 to the activation device for poor or improper connections. Also, verify the proper wiring of the door equipment's on/off/hold switch.

      If there is no stall on the swing side of your Optex accessories while the door is opening, check for poor or improper connections of the green wires from the OC-904 to the door control. Also, verify the OC-904 dipswitches are set correctly. Finally, ensure the area width dipswitches on the right bank of the OA-603 are properly set.

      If your Optex accessories have no activation or reactivation on the closing cycle, verify the proper connection and output of the yellow wires from the OC-904 to the door control or on/off/hold switch. Also, verify the proper settings of the OC-904 dipswitches. For knowing act applications, check for poor or improper connections of the purple wires from the OC-904 to the activation device.

    What to do if Optex Accessories have intermittent recycle or intermittent stalling?

      If your Optex accessories experience intermittent recycling (ghosting) or stalling, consider these potential causes. If the door ghosts several times on the first activation, this is normal for 15% of installations and should resolve after the first activation. Ensure the OA-603 sensor head is mounted flush on the door. Adjust the threshold and swing area angles to +5 degrees. Also, ensure positive voltage on the red wire at hold open and 0 voltage at closed position. If stalling is caused by traffic or objects near guide rails, set switch 6 on the left bank dipswitch of OA-603 to the on/up (shallow) position. Verify the area width dipswitch settings on the right bank of the OA-603. Lastly, reposition the loop assembly so the loop center coupler does not rest on the door at any point of do...
