Step 2 – Fitting Your Enigma SED Hard Drive
Enigma SED is available as a Matched Solution or a Bare Drive.
The Matched Solution is designed to provide you with the easiest way to replace your existing hard drive.
The Enigma SED hard drive is pre-mounted in the correct fitting bracket required for your make and model of
computer, allowing a direct swap with your existing hard drive.
If you have purchased the Bare Drive version you will need to remove the fitting bracket from your existing
hard drive and attach it to the Enigma SED hard drive before you can fit the Enigma SED into your computer.
Fitting the Enigma SED hard drive in your computer requires the removal of your existing hard drive and
replacing it with the Enigma SED hard drive. Each computer system will have a different series of steps for
replacing the existing hard drive.
Due to the number of systems that Enigma SED supports, it is not possible for us to provide detailed
instructions on how to replace your hard drive in this manual. However, if you are not already familiar with
the steps required for your system you can usually find detailed instructions in your computer user manual.
If are not able to locate the User Manual for your computer you may be able to view it on the manufacturer’s
website. Below are links to manufacturers websites where you can search for the User Manual relating to
your system: -
• Dell
• HP/Compaq
• Lenovo/IBM
• Toshiba
Once you have replaced the existing hard drive in your computer with the Enigma SED hard drive you are
ready to activate the hardware encryption and secure your data. Proceed to “Step 3 – Activating Hardware
Encryption”.
