OPERATION
Please use diagrams 1 & 3 to fam

iarize yourself with the front and rear panels of the SMP300.
CAUTION: Please read all of t

lume Controls
Use this to match t
he
output level of the subwoofer to that of the main speakers
in
the system. We recommend th at you
play a variety of mate
ri
al
before selecting a se
tt
ing. Start w

h the control turned completely counterclockwise
(o
ff) and
slowly turn it
up
. NOTE: Turning t
he
volume
up
slowly wi
ll
prevent possible damage to the woofer from t
he
system
be
in
g
run too "hot". Very ltttle movement of the knob is needed.
CAUTION: If a popping sound
(c
lipping) is audible through the subwoofer, it is being overd riven, red uce the volume
on
the SM P300, or speaker damage may occur! (See
Vo
lume Limit Control for proper adjustment of volume settings to avoid
distorti
on
damage.)

Use this control to adjust the upper frequency limit of the subwoofer. The
pu
rpose is to control the overlap of the
subwoofers upper frequenc ies and t
he
main speakers lower frequencies. If adjusted properly this
will
provide seamless
blending of the subwoofer and the main speaker
s.
Phase Control
This control allows you to match t
he
arrival times of the sound waves from the subwoofer and the main speakers to your
li
stening area. Whi le the system is playi
ng
flip t
he
switch to the 180° setting and back t
oo
· until t
he
bass sounds louder or
less
bo
omy. Depending
on
the subwoofers placement and room acoustics, this contr
ol
may
ha
ve little or no effec
t.

terclockwise), turn the subwoofer on and with audio playing
through the system adjust the maximum volume level desired. Sett

l occur even when the front panel volume control is turned all the way up.
