Always ensure that restraint belts are close to the
body and never held away from the occupant’s upper
body by wheelchair components .
The shoulder belt must run over the user’s shoulder. If
this is not possible, then the user must not be trans-
ported in this position in a motor vehicle.
After applying the user’s restraint belts for transport
in a motor vehicle, they must be tightened as rmly as
possible, taking into account the user’s comfort.
The belt webbing must not be twisted but must lie at
on the user’s body.
If there is more than 30 cm of space in front of the
occupant’s feet, then it is recommended that the calf
band be xed to the frame and the feet of the occu-
pant be placed behind this calf band.
