Optical Zoom
You can zoom-out to record landscapes etc. in wide angle (Wide) or
zoom-in to make people and objects appear closer (Tele) by rotating
the zoom ring.
Rotate to T side:
Enlarges distant subject
Rotate to W side:
Widens angle of view
Using [Ex. Tele Conv.] in the recording menu, you can take magnified pictures without
deteriorating the picture quality.
When using [Ex. Tele Conv.], set the picture size to [M]or [S] (picture sizes indicated with ).
Using the Extended Tele Conversion when taking pictures
Item Description of settings
[ZOOM]
With the operations below, you can manually zoom in to the
maximum magnification of the Extended Tele Conversion.
1 Press one of the function buttons.
Press the function button to which you have assigned
[Zoom Control] in [Fn Button Set] (P42).
2 Press 2/1 or 3/4.
2/1
: Zoom slow
3/4: Zoom fast
If you press the function button again or wait for a fixed amount of
time to pass, the zoom operation will be terminated.
When an interchangeable lens supporting power zoom (electrically
operated zoom) is in use and [Step Zoom] (P61) is set to [ON], the step
zoom operation will be assigned to the front dial, rear dial, or control dial.
[TELE CONV.]
Automatically zooms in to the maximum magnification of the
Extended Tele Conversion.
