1 PCM Down Conversion
Select whether to output audio on DVD recorded in 96 kHz
linear PCM as is (No) or to convert it to 48 kHz for output
(Yes).
2 Dolby Digital
To select the signal format (Bitstream or PCM) to be output
from the optical or coaxial digital audio output terminal
during play of DVDs recorded in Dolby Digital
3 DTS Digital Surround
To select whether DTS Digital Surround bitstream is output
from the optical or coaxial digital audio output terminal or
no digital audio is output during play of DVDs recorded in
DTS Digital Surround•
Press the cursor buttons [&, T] to
select the setting and press [ENTER].
When "1 PCM Down Conversion" is selected
1 No (Factory preset)
No digital audio is output during play of DVDs recorded in
96 kHz linear PCM.
• Ifthe DVD is recorded in 48 kHz linear PCM, digital audio
converted to 48 kHz/16 bit is output regardless of the set-
ring.
eAudio will be output using the original audio recording
system if the DVD has not been copyright-protected.

During play of DVDs recorded in 48 kHz or 96 kHz linear
PCM. digital audio converted to 48 kHz/16 bit is output.
(Digital output of PCM audio is restricted to 48 kHz/16 bit or
below for copyright protection.)
When "2 Dolby Digital" is selected
1 Bitstream _2 (Factory preset)
Dolby Digital bitstream (lch-5.1ch) isoutput during play of
DVDs recorded in Dctby Digital.
2 PCM
Digital audio converted to 48 kHz/16 bit PCM (2ch) is
output during play of DVDs recorded in Dolby Digital.
When "3 DTS Digital Surround" is selected
1 Off (Factory preset)
No digital audio is output during play of DVDs recorded in
DTS Digital Surround.
2 Bitstreem _
DTS Digital Surround bitstream (tch-5.1ch) is output dur-
ing play of DVDs recorded in DTS Digital Surround.
