      The "Searching..." message indicates that the handset is too far from the base unit, so move closer. Also, ensure the base unit AC adaptor is connected. You may have selected the wrong base unit, so select the correct one. High electrical interference can also cause this, so keep the handset and base unit away from interference sources, such as antennas and mobile phones.
