Overview

This document describes the Panasonic Expandable Digital Cordless Phone, models KX-TH1201, KX-TH1211, and KX-TH1212. These models are designed for home and small office use, offering a range of features for communication and convenience.

Function Description

The Panasonic Expandable Digital Cordless Phone system allows users to make and receive calls using both a landline and a cellular line via Bluetooth® wireless technology. The KX-TH1201 is a single-handset system, while the KX-TH1211 comes with two handsets and the KX-TH1212 includes three handsets. The system is expandable, supporting up to six handsets in total, including the base unit.

Key functions include:

  • Link to Cell Feature: This allows users to make and answer cellular calls using the cordless handsets, leveraging Bluetooth® technology to connect to a cellular phone. This feature is particularly useful for maximizing cellular plan minutes, especially during evenings and weekends, or for making cellular calls from areas with poor cellular reception by placing the cellular phone in a location with better signal.
  • Shared Phonebook: The system supports a shared phonebook that can store up to 50 names and phone numbers, accessible from all registered handsets.
  • Caller ID Service: Displays the caller's name and number, provided the user subscribes to Caller ID service.
  • Call Waiting with Caller ID: Allows users to see who is calling while on another call, provided they subscribe to this service.
  • Voice Mail Service: Provides an automatic answering service from the service provider/telephone company, with messages accessible from the handsets.
  • Intercom: Enables communication between handsets and the base unit.
  • Locator: Helps locate a misplaced handset by paging all registered handsets.
  • Block Calls: This feature allows users to reject calls from unwanted numbers by storing up to 20 phone numbers in a block list.
  • Night Mode: Allows users to select a span of time during which the handset will not ring for outside calls.
  • Alarm: Users can set up to two different alarm options (once or daily) with a choice of 3 tones and 4 voice announcements.
  • Talking Battery Alert/Talking Alarm Clock: Provides voice announcements for low battery status and as a wake-up greeting for the alarm clock.
  • Handset Clarity Booster: Enhances sound clarity during conversations, especially in areas with interference.
  • Temporary Tone Dialing: Allows users to temporarily switch the dialing mode to tone for accessing services that require touch-tone signals.
