reception
of
FM
broadcasts:
Set
this
switch
to
the
ON
position
when
tuning
in
an
FM
station
in
ordinary
cases.
Keep
it
at
that
position
while
listening
to
the
FM
broadcast,
and
the
AFC
will
mini-
mize
drift.
Set
this
switch
to
the
OFF
position
for
picking
up
an
FM
station
which
is
hard
to
get
because
its
transmitter
frequency
is
adjacent
to
that
of
another
station
trans-
mitting
much
stronger
FM
signals.
*
For
reception
of
MW
signals:
Set
this
switch
to
the
DX
position
when
MW
signals
are
weak
due
to
a
long
distance
from
transmitting
antenna
or
to
other
receiving
conditions.
Set
this
switch
to
the
LOCAL
position
when
MW
signals
are
extreme
strong
or
external
noise
is
especially
noticeable.

Choose
the
desired
radio
broadcast
band
by
setting
the
band
selector®.

turning

Tuning

tuning
is

when

needle

the
desired
tone
quality.
To
turn
the
radio
off,
set
the
Power
on/off
switch®
to
the
‘‘OFF”’

antenna

directional.
To
improve
reception
of
weak
stations,
slowly
rotate
the
unit
to
obtain
the
best
possible
MW

SW

reception.

maximum
SW
signals,
pull
out the
Telescopic
whip
antenna@®
in
a
vertical
position.
«
To
receive
maximum
FM
signals,
pull
out
the
Telescopic
whip
antenna
and
rotate
until
optimum
reception
is
obtain-
ed.
Retune
as
necessary.
