Changing the Sound
Quality
(For video CDs, audio CDs and MP3)
Press [EQ] during play or stop mode. A
The setting switches in the sequence indicated below each
time [EQ] is pressed.
1 S-XBS → 2 LIVE → Cancel (no indicator is shown)

S-XBS:
Select this setting to boost the low-range response.
LIVE:
Select this setting to reproduce the sound as if it would be
heard in a concert hall.
Note
The last setting will be memorised when the unit is
disconnected from the power source.
(For video CDs)
When using multi-audio CDs, you can select the audio
channel to play the vocal or backing tracks.
Press [MONO L/R].
Pressing this button once displays the present mode for
about 2 seconds.
Each subsequent press changes the mode as follows.
MONO L → MONO R

MONO L: Accompaniment only (main) B
MONO R: Vocal only (sub) C
L R: Accompaniment (main) and
vocal (sub) D
(With some discs, accompaniment may be heard)
Note
•
Audio channel selection is retained in memory even if
the lid is opened and you replace the CD. It returns to
“L R” mode if the unit is turned off.
