Overview

Pandora Smart v3

The Pandora Smart v3 is a sophisticated car service-security system designed for vehicles with a 12V on-board voltage. It represents a complex engineering solution, integrating unique and modern technological software and hardware. The system is built with high-quality electronic components from leading manufacturers, utilizing high-precision mounting and control machinery to ensure superior quality, reliability, and stable technical characteristics throughout its operational lifespan.

Function Description:

The core function of the Pandora Smart v3 is to provide comprehensive security and service features for your vehicle. It incorporates a cryptographically strong authorization code with a unique dialog algorithm and an individual encryption key on each device, ensuring robust protection against electronic hacking.

The system offers various security modes, monitoring multiple zones within and around the vehicle. These zones include interior, engine, and outside temperature, on-board circuit voltage, engine RPM, heater operation, fuel level, and parking/handbrake status. It also features shock, motion, and tilt sensors with adjustable sensitivity, and can integrate with the original equipment (OE) alarm system via CAN. If any security zone is triggered, the system records the event, activates alarm or warning modes, informs the owner through available means, and can block the engine. The system can also forcibly turn off a failing security zone or temporarily deactivate sensors if triggered excessively.

Beyond security, the Pandora Smart v3 facilitates remote and automatic engine starts, allowing the owner to heat or cool the interior, charge the battery, or pre-warm the engine. These starts can be configured based on schedule, time period, engine temperature, or voltage, and are only possible when the system is armed and the vehicle is secured (e.g., with the handbrake engaged or in "P" position for automatic transmissions). For manual transmissions, a "program neutral" procedure must be followed.

The system supports a "Slave mode" for arming and disarming using the original vehicle's key, button, or keyless access system. It also includes "Owner authorization devices and functions," where Bluetooth devices like radio tags, remote controls, or mobile phones with the app are used for owner recognition. This enables "Hands Free mode" for automatic arming/disarming as the owner approaches or distances from the vehicle, and "Immobilizer mode" to block the engine if no authorization device is detected upon ignition. Additionally, "Anti-Hi-Jack-1/2 modes" are available to prevent aggressive vehicle seizure by continuously checking for authorization devices.

Usage Features:

The Pandora Smart v3 is designed for user convenience, offering ergonomic control and high service characteristics. Control of the system can be achieved through various methods:

  • Mobile Phone: The system can be controlled via voice calls using DTMF commands. Owners can arm/disarm, request current coordinates or GSM balance, activate "Tow truck mode," and enable/disable engine blocking. Settings can also be changed via phone, including the owner's system number.
  • Online Service and Mobile Application: The "pandora-on.com" online service and the "Pandora Connect" mobile app (for iOS/Android) provide telemetric functions, allowing control and status monitoring of the vehicle. The mobile app can also work via Bluetooth when there's no server connection, enabling control and status information retrieval, and using the mobile phone as an authorization device.
  • Radio Tags and Remote Controls: Bluetooth-enabled radio tags (BT-760/BT-770) and remote controls (D-030) serve as authorization devices for arming/disarming, activating service modes, and implementing immobilizer/Anti-Hi-Jack functions. They feature control buttons and LED indicators.
  • External VALET Button: A three-color LED indicator button inside the vehicle is used for programming, arming/disarming, and activating/deactivating immobilizer mode.
  • Immobilizer PIN-code: A multi-button code immobilizer (pin-to-drive) function allows disarming, disabling blocking, and controlling service modes using original vehicle controls (buttons, levers, pedals) and a pre-programmed PIN-code.

The system provides clear feedback through LED indicator signals, sound and light signalization, and beeper sound signals for various statuses like arming, disarming, alarms, sensor triggers, and low battery.

Maintenance Features:

The Pandora Smart v3 comes with a 3-year unconditional warranty and free service and support. Owners are encouraged to utilize online support for any assistance.

For proper operation and maintenance:

  • Professional Installation: It is strongly recommended that the security system be installed by qualified personnel who can mount the system using provided documentation, installation diagrams, specific installation guides, and specialized software. Incorrect installation can lead to features not working as expected.
  • Owner's Personal Card: This card contains crucial private information, including the "Secret PIN-code," LOGIN, PASS, and the built-in SIM-card's phone number. This information is protected by a layer that should be carefully erased without using sharp objects. The "Secret PIN-code" is vital for emergency disarming and deactivating anti-theft functions.
  • PIN-code Management: Owners are advised to change default PIN-codes and record the changed values securely, preventing third-party access.
  • SIM Card Monitoring: For correct GSM function operation, the owner should monitor the status and balance of the SIM card installed in the system.
  • Battery Replacement (Radio Tag): The battery in the radio tag (CR 2032) can be replaced by carefully opening the cover, extracting the discharged battery, and inserting a new one with correct polarity. This process does not erase tag code information.
  • Firmware Updates (Radio Tag): Firmware for the radio tag can be updated via the Pandora BT mobile application, either from phone storage or an internet connection.
  • Service Mode: Before handing the vehicle to a car service or valet parking, it is recommended to put the system into "Service mode." This mode stops the security system from interfering with built-in electronics and disables all functions to ease maintenance. It can be activated/deactivated via radio tag, phone, mobile app, or immobilizer buttons, often requiring the "Immobilizer PIN-code."
  • Emergency Control: In cases of control device loss or failure, or battery discharge, emergency methods are available to deactivate security and Anti-Hi-Jack functions using the VALET button and the "Secret PIN-code."

The device has limited external factors resistance and should be operated within a temperature range of -40 to +85°C. All system components must be installed only in the car interior. The base unit and radio tags have an IP40 category of protection against water.
