THE FRAME
SECTION C
Chapter 5 FRAME, CANOPY AND SCREEN ASSEMBLY
This chapter outlines the manufacturer's recommended procedures for assembling the steel modular frame, and
properly attaching the canopy and screen to the frame.
Prior to erecting the frame, your platform construction should be completed, with the putting carpet properly attached
as outlined in Section B.
Prior to beginning the assembly process, unpack the crates containing the metal frame pieces and locate all materials
and quantities listed on Drawing 5A.
ASSEMBLE THE LOWER AND UPPER FRAME (
for Canopy and Screen)
Two people and two eight-foot ladders are recommended for assembly.
Refer to Drawing 5A for all steps of the frame assembly process.
STEP 1
Assemble the frame base on
the lower platform

Assemble Items #1, #2, #7, #8 and 7 each #9, forming a base, shaped like a
"U" on the platform.

Secure each joint with one of the self threading 5/16" bolts provided. Be
sure to put a bolt in each pre-drilled hole.
STEP 2
Assemble the upper
components
–
Assemble items #3, #4, #5, #6, and #10 through #13 (includes 11 Items #9),
forming a unit shaped like a box with cross tubes at front.

Secure each joint with one of the self threading 5/16" bolts provided. Be
sure that Item #4 is on the right, and Item #3 is on the left, facing the
screen-end.
STEP 3
Attach upright supports to
upper components

Simultaneously lift the front two corners of the assembled upper
components.
Install one section of upright support, Item #9, to each elevated corner,
secure with the self threading 5/16" bolts provided.
STEP 4
Install two putt-light
receptacles

Locate the small box containing the two putt-light receptacles. Attach the
two receptacles to the adaptor plates, on Items #3 and #4 of the frame, using
the hardware provided.
