SECTION F APPENDICES
Chapter 13 TROUBLESHOOTING
The Double EAGLE is a sophisticated piece of equipment and is subject to malfunction. Please refer to this
troubleshooting guide before calling Optronics for customer service. Most problems can be solved by simple
adjustments that require very little time or technical knowledge.
PAR T OPTISENSE™
Malfunctions related to the Optisense™ can present themselves in a variety of ways. The most common
problems are related to loose or improperly attached cabling. Ensure that the cabling attached to the
Optisense are connected properly prior to calling for service. Other potential problems (and solutions) are
outlined below.
PROBLEM #1: Check Camera is displayed on the large screen.
REASON: The Optisense is not communicating with the control console.
SOLUTIONS:
1. Ensure that the USB cable is
connected well.
The USB cables are the cables that transmits data from the Optisense to the
Control Console. On top of the Optisense, the USB cable is the cable that
is (supposed to be) connected to the USB connector. Disconnect the cable
and reconnect the cable to ensure proper contact is being made.
Also, the USB cable connects at the Control Console and the same
disconnect and reconnect procedure should be followed to verify proper
connection. There are two usb cables connected in the middle, check this
connection also.
If this removes the “CHECK CAMERA” message, you are finished. If
not, refer to solution 2.
2. Reinitialize data transfer by
turning off power to the
Optisense.
Sometimes data is “caught” in the sensing system and is unable to transmit
properly. Reinitialization can be achieved by turning the power off to the
Optisense (Optisense only) by using the black power switch on the front of
the Optisense enclosure and turning the power back on.
If this removes the “CHECK CAMERA” message, you are finished. If
not, refer to solution 3.
3. Turn off power to computer.
The USB driver may need to be reinstalled. Turn off the computer and
unplug for 30 seconds. Restart the computer and Restore Game if you wish
to start where you left off.
4. Replace Optisense Controller
board.
