Begin HTG Disassembly
Remove HTG Transmission
unit from vehicle
1. Thoroughly clean unit free of grass and
other debris. Let dry and place on a
clean work table.
2. Place a pan for oil collection under the
unit.
1. Remove the cotter pin using needle
nose pliers.
2. Straighten bent pins.
3. Pull out pin
Remove brake hub
Remove castle nut from brake
hub.
1. Using a 1 ½” socket wrench, loosen the
castle nut.
2. Remove nut.
Remove brake hub 1. Using a 2-jaw, 3-jaw puller or similar,
loosen brake hub.
2. You may leave the nut threaded on the
last few threads of the shaft for protec-
tion.
NOTE: The brake drum will “pop” off the
coupling shaft when the correct force is
reached.
