Overview

This document provides an operation and safety manual for the Parkside PNTS 1300 Wet & Dry Cleaner.

Function Description

The Parkside PNTS 1300 is a versatile wet and dry vacuum cleaner designed for domestic use in various environments such as the house, workroom, car, or garage. It is equipped with a robust plastic container for waste collection and castors for easy maneuverability. The appliance features a float system that automatically switches off the suction flow during wet vacuuming when the waste tank is full, preventing overflow. In addition to its vacuuming capabilities, the PNTS 1300 also includes a blower function, allowing for versatile cleaning applications. It is crucial to note that the device is not intended for vacuuming flammable, explosive, or health-endangering materials, including hot ashes, petrol, solvents, acids, or caustic solutions. The manufacturer explicitly states that they will not be held responsible for injuries resulting from use that does not comply with the directions or from incorrect use.

Important Technical Specifications

The PNTS 1300 Wet & Dry Cleaner boasts several key technical specifications:

  • Power consumption of motor: 1300 W, indicating a strong motor suitable for various cleaning tasks.
  • Mains voltage: 230V~, 50 Hz, standard for household electrical outlets.
  • Safety class: II, signifying double insulation for enhanced safety.
  • Protection category: IP24, meaning it is protected against solid objects larger than 12.5 mm and splashing water from any direction.
  • Suction force: 15 KPA, providing effective suction for both wet and dry debris.
  • Cable length: 4 m, offering a reasonable reach for cleaning without frequently changing power outlets.
  • Waste tank capacity (brutto): 20 liters, providing ample capacity for collecting debris before needing to be emptied.
  • Usable container volume: 15 liters, the practical volume for waste collection.
  • Weight (incl. all accessories): 5.3 kg, making it relatively lightweight and easy to move around.

The appliance carries the CE identification mark, indicating its conformity with EU guidelines as of model year 2009, specifically 2004/108/EC and 2006/95/EC. It adheres to harmonized standards such as EN 60335-1/A13:2008, EN 60335-2-2/A1:2004+A2:2006, EN 50366/A1:2006, EN 55014-1:2006, EN 55014-2/A1:2001+A2:2008, EN 61000-3-2:2006, EN 61000-3-3/A2:2008, and EN 62233:2008.

Usage Features

The PNTS 1300 is designed for user-friendly operation with several features:

  • Assembly: The appliance comes with the motor head fitted, which can be removed by opening the securing clips. The carrying handle and feet with castors are attached using supplied screws.
  • Filter System: It supports different filters for specific tasks:
    • Wet vacuuming: Requires a foam filter (15) to be attached to the filter tray. It is crucial to only use a dry foam filter.
    • Dry vacuuming: Uses a material filter (16) placed over the filter tray with the attached foam filter (15).
    • Fine dust vacuuming: For very fine dust, the manual recommends the additional use of a paper filter bag (17) to prevent quicker dirt accumulation. The paper filter bag is fitted with its short flap upwards over the internal suction pipe, ensuring the sealing ring completely surrounds the lip on the suction pipe.
    • Important Safety Note: The appliance must never be used without a filter, as this could damage the machine.
  • Switching On/Off: The appliance is switched on by setting the on/off switch (3) to position "I" and switched off by setting it to "O".
  • Blower Function: The suction hose (13) can be screwed to the blower connection (11) on the motor head (1) to utilize the blower function.
  • Accessories: The vacuum cleaner comes with a range of accessories for various cleaning needs:
    • 3-part vacuum tube (12)
    • Vacuum hose with handle component (13, 14)
    • Floor nozzle with turnable insert attachment (18) with brush and rubber lip, suitable for carpets and smooth surfaces.
    • Crevice nozzle (20)
    • The attachment ports (4) on the motor part and the feet (7) serve as convenient storage for nozzles.
  • Safety Mechanisms: During wet vacuuming, a float mechanism interrupts operation when the waste tank is full, preventing liquid from reaching the motor. If foam or liquid exits the machine, it should be switched off immediately.
  • Power Connection: The appliance should only be plugged into a socket safeguarded by at least 16A and connected via a residual-current circuit breaker (RCD) with a rated leakage current of not more than 30 mA. Users must ensure the mains voltage matches the rating plate information and regularly check the power cable for damage.

Maintenance Features

Proper maintenance is essential for the longevity and safe operation of the PNTS 1300:

  • General Cleaning:
    • Always disconnect the mains plug before any maintenance or cleaning work to prevent electric shock.
    • After use, the waste tank should be emptied and cleaned with a damp cloth.
    • The foam filter should be washed with lukewarm water and soap, then allowed to dry.
    • The material filter should be beaten out and, if necessary, washed with lukewarm water and soap, then allowed to dry.
    • The paper filter bag should be replaced when full.
    • Caution: Never hose down the appliance with water or use aggressive cleaning agents or solvents, as this could damage the appliance.
  • Storage:
    • The mains cable can be wound around the cable holder (8) at the back of the appliance for tidy storage.
    • Separated vacuum tubes can be inserted into the accessory holder on the appliance feet (7) for compact storage.
    • The appliance should be stored in a dry place and out of reach of children.
  • Pre-use Checks: Before each use, the appliance should be checked for any obvious faults, such as a defective mains cable, and any issues should be repaired or replaced by authorized personnel.
  • Replacement Parts: Replacement parts, including wet filters (foam filter), paper filter bags, material filters for dry vacuuming, crevice nozzles, vacuum hoses, and floor nozzles, can be ordered directly from the Service Centre.
  • Warranty: The unit comes with a 36-month guarantee period for domestic use (12 months for commercial use or replacement units). The warranty covers material defects or manufacturing errors, provided the cleaning and maintenance instructions have been followed. Damage from normal wear and tear, overloading, improper use, or certain parts like filters and attachments are excluded. Repairs under warranty are carried out free of charge upon presentation of proof of purchase and guarantee. Non-warranty repairs can be carried out by the Service Center at a charge, with a cost estimate provided upon request. Machines sent for service must be clean and accompanied by a problem description.
