If your Parsun Outboard Motor engine won't start (but the starter operates), consider these potential causes and solutions: * The fuel tank may be empty: Fill the tank with clean, fresh fuel. * The fuel may be contaminated or stale: Fill the tank with clean, fresh fuel. * The fuel filter may be clogged: Clean or replace it with the recommended type. * The spark plug(s) may be fouled or of the incorrect type: Inspect, clean, or replace with the recommended type. * The spark plug cap(s) may be fitted incorrectly: Check and refit the cap(s). * The ignition wiring may be damaged or poorly connected: Check wires for wear or breaks, tighten all loose connections, and replace worn or broken wires. * The engine stop switch lanyard may not be attached: Attach the lanyard.
