This document provides installation instructions and technical specifications for the PerfectVision L.I.F.E. MOUNT™ Sector Frame, identified by part number PV-SFA. This device is a structural frame designed for mounting antennas and other equipment on communication towers, specifically for sector installations. It is available in various configurations to accommodate different tower and antenna setups.

Function Description:

The L.I.F.E. MOUNT™ Sector Frame serves as a robust and adaptable platform for deploying cellular and other wireless communication equipment. It is designed to be pre-assembled at ground level and then installed onto tower legs. The frame allows for precise adjustment of pitch and azimuth to optimize antenna alignment. It supports both single and three-sector installations, with specific tie-back pipe configurations for each. • MAX STRUCTURE HEIGHT: 400ft
  • STRUCTURE CLASS: I OR II
  • EXPOSURE CATEGORY: B OR C
  • TOPOGRAPHIC CATEGORY: 1
  • DESIGN WIND PRESSURE: 135psf
  • DESIGN WIND PRESSURE (ICED): 15psf
  • DESIGN ICE THICKNESS (RADIAL): 2.75"
  • Maximum Factored Horizontal Force (F): 1750lbf (considered for design under extreme wind condition at each mounting pipe location)
  • Maximum Factored Vertical Force (Fzi): 1450lbf (considered for design under extreme ice condition at each mounting pipe location)
  • Mount Design: For (4) mounting pipe locations per sector.
  • Centerline Offset: The centerline of the maximum horizontal concentrated force, F, may be offset vertically from the mount centerline by up to 6 inches.
  • Maximum Allowable Offset: The vertical offset factor indicates how many inches the centerline of antenna equipment loading may be offset from the mount centerline. This vertical offset factor is not to be exceeded. For single collar mounts, the maximum offset factor value is [6]. For dual collar mounts, the maximum offset factor value is [18].

Usage Features:

  • Ground-Level Pre-assembly: The sector frame can be largely assembled on the ground, reducing work at height.
  • Adjustable Pitch: Bolt Group 1 allows for adjustment of the frame's pitch, ensuring the frame face is normal to horizontal.
  • Adjustable Azimuth: Bolt Group 2 enables adjustment of the mount's azimuth for precise antenna orientation.
  • Flexible X-Frame Orientation: X-Frames can be oriented to allow equipment mounting on either the inside or outside of the frame.
  • Taper Adjustment: The design accommodates various tower leg tapers (0° to 5.5° from vertical) through specific hole installations for the Top and Bottom Adjustment Plates.
  • Safety Climb Integration: The PV-SCRB-SFA kit (purchased separately) allows for the installation of safety climb routing, either exterior or interior to the bracket, enhancing climber safety.
  • Horizontal Support Kit (PV-HSK): Recommended for towers with face widths less than 10ft and leg diameters less than 4in OD, this kit interconnects sectors for added stability, especially in 3-sector setups. It requires field cutting and punching of horizontal angles.
  • Antenna Pipe Installation: Supports various antenna pipe spacings (3, 4, or 5 pipes) with provisions for field drilling additional holes if needed.
  • Single and Multi-Sector Installation: Specific instructions are provided for installing tie-back pipes for both single and three-sector configurations. Tie-back pipes must be installed on opposite corners of the frame (A-A or B-B).
  • Mount Classification Identification: Detailed information is provided to classify mounts and allow engineers to verify current and future loading changes, ensuring structural integrity.

Maintenance Features:

  • Hardware Tightening: Instructions emphasize not tightening hardware until the frame is fully constructed, allowing for adjustments. All bolts should be re-tightened after positioning.
  • Corrosion Protection: For field-cut and drilled surfaces (e.g., for horizontal angles or additional antenna pipe holes), applying three coats of Zinga is recommended for corrosion protection.
  • Regular Inspection: The document implicitly suggests regular inspection of the mount and its components to ensure continued safety and performance, especially after installation and any adjustments.
  • Documentation: Instructions should be left in the shelter or cabinet on site for future reference, aiding in maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Manufacturer Support: PerfectVision provides support for questions and consulting via phone, emphasizing the importance of understanding directions and safety protocols.
