What to do if my Performance Tool W1611 Tools will not lift to full height?
    • M
      mcdowellkellyJul 27, 2025
If your Performance Tool Tools won't lift to its full height, there are several potential causes: * The power unit might be low on fluid. To resolve this, ensure the jack is on a level surface and in the down position. Then, remove the filler plug and add clean hydraulic jack fluid until it reaches the level of the filler. * The power unit could be air bound. To fix this, open the release valve at least two full turns and pump the handle a minimum of 20 full strokes to purge the air from the system. * The valve may not be closing completely. Try the following: a) Close the release valve. b) With the jack fully lowered, manually raise the lifting arm as high as possible. c) Open the release valve and allow the jack to descend to the lowered position.

If the pump feels "spongy" under load with your Performance Tool jacks, it could be due to a low fluid level in the power unit. To correct this, ensure the jack is on a level surface and in the down position, then remove the filler plug and add clean hydraulic jack fluid to the level of the filler. Another potential cause is that the power unit may be air bound. To fix this, open the release valve a minimum of 2 full turns and pump the handle a minimum of 20 full strokes to purge air from the system.
