Fuel System Primary Filter/
Water Separator - Drain
Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electri-
cal components can cause a fire. To help prevent
possible injury, turn the start switch off when
changing fuel filters or water separator elements.
Clean up fuel spills immediately.
NOTICE
The water separator is not a filter. The water separa-
tor separates water from the fuel. The engine should
never be allowed to run with the water separator
more than half full. Engine damage may result.
The fuel filter/water separator (if equipped) is not
usually supplied by Perkins. The following text
describes a typical fuel filter/water separator. Refer to
the OEM information for further information on the
fuel filter/water separator.
