Engine Basic Engine The maintenance and service interval recommendations for the
specific engine are the maintenance requirements specified in the
engine manufacturers Operations and Maintenance Manual
included with the vehicle. Strict adherence to these recommenda-
tions is required to maintain warranty coverage. The maintenance
and service interval recommendations for the engines vary signifi-
cantly, depending on the manufacturer and the model of the engine.
As a minimum
, perform the operations listed below:
Fuel filter Drain, clean, and refill or replace as required (see page 149
). X
Bypass oil filter Clean filter and change element. X
Block Clean with steam or solvent. X
Crankcase breather Clean. x
Manifold nuts Tighten to specified torque. X
Oil pan Capscrew Tighten to specified torque. X
