•Theminimumuidlevelis
determinedbythelineonthe
surgetankindicatedbytheletters
“MIN”.Thisindicatorislocated
belowthellcap.
•Thecoolingsystemwillneeduid
ifthesurgetankleveldoesnotrise
tothe“MIN”lineregardlessifthe
systemishotorcold.
ToppingOff
WARNING!
Removingthellcaponahoten-
ginecancausescaldingcoolant
tosprayoutandburnyoubadly.
Iftheenginehasbeeninopera-
tionwithintheprevious30minutes,
beverycarefulinremovingthell
cap.Protectface,hands,andarms
againstescapinguidandsteamby
coveringthecapwithalarge,thick
rag.Donottrytoremoveituntilthe
surgetankcoolsdownorifyousee
anysteamorcoolantescaping.In
anysituation,removethecapvery
slowlyandcarefully.Bereadyto
backoffifanysteamorcoolantbe-
ginstoescape.
NOTE
Iffrequenttoppingoffisnecessary
andtherearenovisiblesignsof
coolantleakswhentheengineis
cold,checkforleakswiththeengine
operatingatnormaltemperature.
Topoffthecoolingsystemwhen
coolantdoesnotrisetothelevel
indicatedas‘MIN’onthesurgetank.
Thesurgetankistranslucentwhich
allowsthecoolantleveltobeseen.
Addcoolantthroughthesurgetankll
cap.Donotremovethepressurecap
tollthecoolingsystem.
