Changing the needle
Switchoffthemainswitch.
To remove: Lower the presser foot
andmovetheneedletoitshighest
point. Now loosen the needle screw
(25)andpulltheneedledown.
To insert:TheatsideAofthe
needle must face to the rear. Lower
the presser foot and insert the
needle, pushing it up as far as it
goes. Hold the needle and tighten
theneedlescrew(25)rmly.
Setting the needle thread

Settherequiredneedlethreadtension
(11)withthehelpofthemarkB.
The normal setting for sewing is 4 to 5.
Forfree-motionsewing,darningand
buttonhole set the tension between 2 and
3.
Dropping the feed dog
Forcertainsewingwork,e.g.darningor
free-motion sewing the feed dog has to be
dropped.
To do this, open the bobbin case/hook
coverandmoveslideCfullytotheright.
Now the feed dog is dropped.
