Usage Features:

  • Control Panel: The front-mounted control panel displays the operation status and allows for temperature setting. It includes keys for "Buzzer" (to silence alarms), "Alarm Test," "Defrost," and "Set." Up and Down arrow keys facilitate temperature adjustments and offset calibration. Indicator lamps for "Door" (lit when open) and "Alarm" (lit during alarm conditions) provide visual feedback.
  • Temperature Setting: The unit is factory preset to -20°C, an optimal storage temperature for vaccines and biological products. Users can adjust the temperature within a range of -15°C to -25°C using the "Set" and arrow keys.
  • Key Lock Operation: A key lock feature is integrated to prevent unauthorized tampering with the control panel settings. This feature can be activated or deactivated by pressing and holding the Up Arrow key for about 5 seconds.
  • Door Lock: A physical door lock is provided, requiring a key to secure the door, enhancing the security of stored contents.
  • Magnetic Door Gasket: Ensures a tight seal for optimal performance and temperature uniformity, contributing to energy efficiency.
  • Adjustable Legs: Allows for leveling the freezer on uneven surfaces, which is crucial for proper operation and to prevent vibration and noise.
  • Stacking Capability: The unit can be stacked with another compatible freezer or refrigerator (PR-L5181*, SR-L6111W-PA, or SF-L6111W-PA) using an optional stacking accessory kit (part number 833-0-3131-102-00) to maximize floor space efficiency. Specific instructions must be followed for safe stacking.
  • Access Port: Facilitates the installation of external temperature sensors for independent monitoring of the chamber temperature. It is important to reseal the port after use to maintain temperature uniformity and prevent condensation.
  • Door Open Sensor: Triggers an alarm if the door remains open for more than two minutes, helping to prevent temperature excursions.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: Regular cleaning (monthly) of both the interior and exterior surfaces is recommended using a diluted neutral dishwashing detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, or hot water, as these can damage the unit's finish and components.
  • Condenser Coil Cleaning: The condenser coils, located behind the base grille (kickplate), should be cleaned regularly (e.g., every other month) to maintain energy efficiency. Access to the coils is gained by removing two screws and detaching the base grille.
  • Manual Defrost: The freezer features manual defrosting. When defrosting is required, contents should be transferred to another freezer. Cotton bath towels should be placed at the bottom of the chamber to absorb defrost water. Physical removal of ice is discouraged to prevent damage to the evaporator.
  • Safety Check Sheet: For repair or maintenance requests, a safety check sheet must be prepared, detailing any hazardous materials stored in the unit and any contamination present, to ensure the safety of service personnel.
  • Disposal: When disposing of the unit, it must be handled by appropriate personnel. The doors should be removed to prevent child entrapment and suffocation.
  • Compressor Protection: After unplugging or power interruption, a minimum 5-minute waiting period is required before restarting the unit to protect the compressor from damage.
