It also allows for connection to external audio/video equipment such as VCRs, satellite tuners, camcorders, game consoles, and audio amplifiers. Installation:

  • Placement: Place the TV on a solid base, ensuring at least 5 cm clearance around each side for ventilation. Avoid placing objects on top of the TV.
  • Power Connection: Connect the TV tightly to a 220/240V~, 50Hz mains supply socket.
  • Aerial Connection: Connect the indoor or outdoor aerial plug tightly to the socket on the back of the TV. Ensure good quality aerial connectors and cables are used.
  • Remote Control Setup: Insert batteries into the remote control, following the indicated polarity. Dispose of old batteries according to local regulations.

Basic Operation:

  • Switching On/Off:
    • Press the power button on the front of the TV to switch it on. If the screen remains dark, the TV is in Stand-by.
    • From Stand-by, press P-, P+, or any digit button on the remote control, or the channel up/down buttons on the TV, to switch it on.
    • Press the power button on the remote control or on the TV to switch it off.
    • The TV automatically switches to Stand-by if no aerial signal is received for 15 minutes.
  • Stand-by Mode: Press the power button on the remote control to temporarily switch the TV off. Press P-, P+, a digit button, or the channel up/down buttons on the TV to switch it back on.
  • Energy Saving: It is recommended to switch off the TV overnight instead of leaving it on stand-by to save energy and demagnetize the picture tube for better picture quality.

Channel Management:

  • Storing TV Channels (Manual):
    1. Press the two buttons (likely "Menu" and "OK" or similar) simultaneously until "INSTALLATION" appears.
    2. Press Y one or more times to select the desired TV system (EUROPE, FRANCE, UK).
    3. Press to start the search. The TV will automatically search for a channel. Press again to continue searching for a specific channel.
    4. Press P- or P+ to select a program number (1 to 69) to store the channel. Program number 0 is reserved for external equipment.
    5. Press the two buttons simultaneously to store the selection. "STORED" will appear.
    6. Repeat steps for all desired channels.
  • Auto Store:
    1. Press the two buttons simultaneously for at least 4 seconds until "INSTALLATION" menu appears.
    2. Press + (YES) to start AUTOSTORE. The TV will automatically search and store all available channels from 69 downwards, cycling through all supported TV systems.
    3. The Auto Store function can be stopped by pressing the two buttons simultaneously.
    4. After Auto Store, the TV switches to program 69.
  • Selecting TV Channels: Press P- or P+ or use the digit buttons (one digit for 0-9, two digits within 4 seconds for 10-69) on the remote control. Alternatively, use the channel up/down buttons on the TV.

Audio and Video Settings:

  • On Screen Display (OSD): Press to display program number, timer status, and volume bar. Press again to switch off.
  • Volume Control: Press the volume up/down buttons on the remote control.
  • Mute: Press to switch off the sound. Press again or volume up/down to switch on.
  • Menu on Screen: Access the menu to change and store picture and sound settings, set the timer, select screen format, and pre-select external equipment.
    • Press MENU to cycle through options: VOLUME, BRIGHTNESS, CONTRAST, SHARPNESS, COLOUR, SCREENFORMAT, EXTERNAL, TIMER.
    • Use +/- buttons to adjust settings.
    • To store settings, press the two buttons simultaneously after a change.
    • To exit the menu, wait 10 seconds or continue pressing MENU until it disappears.
  • Different Volume Level for Specific TV Channel:
    1. Press MENU for at least 4 seconds until "VOLUME" appears, then keep pressing until " /PROGRAM" appears.
    2. Press P- or P+ to select the program to alter.
    3. Press - or + to adjust the volume level.
    4. Press the two buttons simultaneously to store the level. "STORED" will appear.
    5. Select another channel or press MENU several times to exit.

Peripheral Connections:

  • Aerial Connection (via VCR): Unplug the aerial from the TV, insert it into the VCR's aerial input, then connect the VCR's aerial output to the TV's aerial input. Switch on the VCR and select program number 0 on the TV.
  • Euroconnector (SCART) for VCR/Satellite Tuner: Connect a Eurocable from the VCR/tuner to the TV's Euroconnector socket. Connect an aerial cable from the VCR's output to the TV's aerial input. The picture should appear automatically when the VCR is switched on. If not, select program 0. Ensure "Program 0 - AV" is selected in the "EXTERNAL" menu.
  • Euroconnector (SCART) for Audio Amplifier: Use a special Euroconnector cable with audio out plugs. Connect the audio plugs to the amplifier's audio input and the Euroconnector to the TV's Euroconnector socket.
  • Audio/Video Front Connections (Camcorder/Game Console): Connect equipment to the Audio/Video input on the front of the TV. Press START or PLAY on the equipment and select program number 0 on the TV.
  • S-Video Front Connection (S-VHS/Hi-8): Connect equipment to the S-Video socket on the front of the TV. Access the "EXTERNAL" menu, select "S-Video", then press START or PLAY on the equipment and select program number 0 on the TV.
  • Headphones: Connect headphones to the front socket. The TV's internal loudspeakers will automatically switch off.
  • Important Note on Connections: Do not use the Audio-Video front socket and the Euroconnector socket at the same time. Similarly, do not use the S-Video socket and the Euroconnector or Audio/Video socket at the same time. If a black and white or double image is seen, check the AV/S-Video selection in the "EXTERNAL" menu.

Timer Function:

  • Automatic Switch Off: In the TIMER menu, use +/- to select the time after which the TV should switch off (up to 24 hours in 10-minute steps). The countdown starts immediately. During the last minute, seconds are shown. The TV switches to stand-by at the end of the period.
  • Automatic Switch On: In the TIMER menu, use +/- to select the time after which the TV should switch on. The countdown starts immediately. Press the power button to temporarily switch the TV off. The TV will switch on after the selected time.
  • Canceling Timer: To stop the timer, set the selected period to 00.00 in the TIMER menu.
  • Note: If the TV is switched on before the selected time has elapsed, the timer is automatically switched off. If no button is pressed within 3 hours after automatic switch-on, the TV will return to Stand-by.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning:

  • Clean the TV with a slightly damp chamois leather.
  • Do not use aggressive cleaning agents.

Troubleshooting (Tips):

  • Poor or No Picture:
    • Check if aerial plugs are tightly connected and if connection facilities are in good condition.
    • Ensure good quality aerial connectors and cables are used.
  • Double or Black and White Picture (Peripheral Connections):
    • Check the "EXTERNAL" item in the MENU to ensure the correct program 0 selection (S-Video for S-VHS/Hi-8, AV for Euroconnector/front Audio/Video).
  • No Solution:
    • Switch the TV off and on again using the power button.
    • Never attempt to repair a defective TV yourself.
